About the Founder

Sleiman Karam has been working in the financial and insurance sectors both in Canada and abroad for over fifteen years. Specializing in group and individual insurance, Sleiman has worked for such renowned financial organizations as Manulife and the Royal Bank of Canada. He has also served as the General Manager of an international insurance company.

Sleiman’s own experience as an expatriate has given him valuable first-hand knowledge about the realities expatriates face, as well as important insights into the world of international work and travel. These experiences revealed the overwhelming lack of medical and related protections offered to many expatriates and the subsequent financial and emotional difficulties that arise from being in such a vulnerable state. It's a result of this pressing need that Sleiman created ACYVA in order to use his expertise and experience to serve expatriates who require customized and affordable international insurance.
